OUR WINES
Montofoli, Estate Montofoli
Greek Grape Variety: Liatiko, Assyrtiko, Athiri, Aidani
Vineyard: Karystos, South Evia
Wine Color: White
Wine Style: Still, Sweet
Vintage: 2013
Bottle Size: 500ml
Alcohol by Volume: 16%vol
Harvest: Selective harvest (handpicked) at end of August or beginning of September. After the grapes are harvested, they are sundried for 10-15 days
Vinification and ageing: After the sundrying period, they are sent into a pneumatic press and ferment into aluminum tanks for another month. Following fermentation, the wine spends five years in oak barrels and one year in the bottle, before it reaches the market
Tasting notes: Rich, with an amber colour and sweet complex aromas derived from the fine Mediterranean grape varieties and the prolonged ageing. Delicious, long and lingering finish
Serving and Food Pairing: Montofoli Estate should be served cold (4 – 6 oC) as an aperitif or a dessert wine. We suggest you accompany it with dried fruits and nuts, fruit tarts and desserts with chocolate, coffee, full-flavored cheeses, as well as Montofoli Cantucci della Nonna, our own bitter-almond biscuits
Awards: Montofoli Estate received its first award at the Cathay Pacific International Wine and Spirits Competition for the vintage of 2002, the first truly Asian wine competition
Ageing: 10-15 Years
