Montofoli Assyrtiko 2023

For the vintage 2023 we made the decision to try a dry vinification of the vines we traditionally produce our dessert wines from. Our old vines of Assyrtiko and Grenache blanc, are the perfect varieties to produce crisp, “sunny”, Aegean acidic whites. We are very proud to present to you our limited production of 1.800 bottles dry Montofoli Assyrtiko and 1.600 bottles of Grenache blanc.

Grape Variety: 80% Assyrtiko, 15% Aidani, 5% Athiri

Vineyard: Karystos, South Evia

Wine Color: White

Wine Style: Still, Dry

Alcohol by Volume: 12,5% vol

Vinification: White vinification in stainless steel tanks, 6 months “sur lies”.

Tasting notes: Bright yellow clear colour, citrus fruit on the nose and mineral character. High acidity and saltiness in the mouth followed by a crisp and long aftertaste.

Serving and Food Pairing: Enjoy between 12 °C or 14 °C. Pairs well with grilled fish, seafood, grilled or roast chicken, and the traditional to Karystos goat in lemon sauce.

Ageing: This wine has a good ageing potential and can only gain with time. Drink it in the next 5 years.
